In an age where profit and the bottom line are often the only goal a merchant has, some local business owners continue to buck that trend and have a goal in mind of serving and giving back to their communities.

Garrow Family Chiropractic, located on Route 35 in Wall, is one of those local businesses with a social conscience and a goal to help people. “I feel it is important to participate in the community and give back to the town,” said owner and chiropractor Dr. Tony Garrow.

Dr. Garrow is an active member of the Wall Township community. He is the president of the Wall Chamber of Commerce, and is also president of the Jersey Shore Health Alliance, which he says is a group of doctors and health professionals who look to better educate, inform and serve the community they live in.

He is an active participant with the Southern Monmouth Chamber of Commerce and also Kid’s Day America, which is a health fair in Wall Township where children can go out and have fun and learn about health from people within the profession.

“The goal for Kid’s Day America is to go out and help the community and try to educate as many kids as we can about their health,” explained Dr. Garrow.

While Dr.Garrow enjoys going out and serving the community with events like Kid’s Day America, he enjoys the work he does at his office just as much.“What really stands out about our office is that we are really family oriented,” Dr. Garrow proudly explained. “We treat a lot of young kids, a lot of pregnant woman, but also treat a lot of seniors, as well.”

One of the other ways that Garrow Family Chiropractic stands out among a lot of other chiropractic offices is that they do a lot of work with postural rehabilitation.“Posture is a problem for people of all ages,” said Dr. Garrow. “We have exercise machines and special equipment available by appointment to help improve posture.”

Garrow Family Chiropractic has expanded itself to stand out with more then a family-friendly atmosphere and state-of-the-art postural rehab technology. The practice has just added a new massage therapist in the last three months.

“We just look to further educate and serve our customer’s needs,” Garrow said.

With the massage therapist being recently added to the office team, can any more additions be expected to join the practice?
Garrow mentioned that in the future there may be the addition of a nutritionist or physical therapist to the office. Garrow hopes to expand the capabilities of his staff, which will allow him to achieve his only goal in health care: to help better serve and educate the costumers.

Garrow’s constant theme is to better serve and educate as much as he can within the health care community, a theme that resonated with him from his younger days.

“I always wanted to work with health care,” explained Garrow. “I knew I wanted to help people.” Garrow, who was a high school swimmer and runner explained that he used to tag-along with his father to get adjustments from the chiropractor while he was still in high school.

“The adjustments really helped my performance in swimming,” Garrow explained.

Garrow then went on to graduate with honors with a chemistry and biology degree from Montclair State University. He credits his positive experience with his chiropractor in high school and his strong grades in college to the reasons why he specialized in chiropractic work.

The Garrow Family Chiropractic office is open from 9 am to 12 pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. They are also open from 3 to 7 pm on Monday through Thursday and they are open on Saturdays by appointment only. While the majority of costumers make appointments, it is possible to come in during the week and see the doctor. Appointments can be made by calling the office, (732) 223-1990. They also can be made by stopping by the office at 2176 Hwy 35, Sea Girt.

So whether it is serving as President of the Jersey Shore Health Alliance, helping out at the health fair, or simply making an adjustment at the office, Dr. Tony Garrow is just looking to help people.

“I want to help educate as many people as I can.”
